This year, we focused heavily on making your daily takeoff experience efficient for you and your team. It’s all about empowering you to handle more projects and win more bids! So, we went to work.
In addition to regular bug fixes and maintenance records for stability, improved usability, and performance, we launched several new features and refined existing core features, so you can enjoy accurate, speedy estimating with the click of a few buttons.
Here is a summary of what we did this year, outlining the potential benefits for your next project.
If you’re ready to do more digging, take your time to read the progress so far and a little glimpse of what’s to come in the new year.
The Biggest Game-Changer In 2025: Repeating Groups
If you work on projects like hotels, hospitals, or apartments that use standardized layouts, you can now transform a manual process of taking off each unit into a scalable workflow with Repeating Groups. With this new feature, you can now perform a takeoff once on a “master unit” and apply it to hundreds of identical spaces instantly.
This is a great time-saver for repeating layouts, giving you back hours of your time to focus on other aspects of your work.

Repeating Groups allows centralized updates when you edit the original master takeoff and get the same instance automatically. You also enjoy the ease of cross-sheet functionality to simplify complex units where the detailed master takeoff on enlarged plans can be applied to smaller units on main floor plans.
There is automatic aggregation that calculates and aggregates total quantities for every material across all instances measured. If you need to scale your instances as you measure, Repeating Groups allows flexible placement so you can flip and rotate to match your plans.
Lastly, exporting your plans by groups can be applied to Repeating Groups in the export view for better organization and further analysis.
A smart tip for best results: Create your initial takeoff with the most detailed enlarged plan as precisely as you can, use specific names for your groups to differentiate them from your typical layouts, then create Repeating Groups from that “master unit” enlarged plan to other units.
Other Time-Saving Improvements from Togal.AI
Breakdown UI and Drawing Comparison are fully integrated into the Quantities Panel
Interactive Overlays, allowing you to work with quantities and comparisons at the same time. Both upgrades make repeating layouts in your project more manageable when doing takeoffs.
Precise Takeoff, Like Never Before
We delivered major upgrades to drawing performance and how the platform handles massive datasets and intricate drawings.
Starting with a smoother canvas performance even on very large takeoffs, you get:
- New Snapping UI: Advanced snapping on the snapping engine to give you more control for angles (e.g., 22.5°, 45°, 90°), line percentages and set increments (e.g., 12.5% or 25%), distances, alignment, and edges. With additional snap-rotation support to rotate areas and counts freely.
- Interactive 3D Takeoff: You can measure directly in 3D view mode with enhanced grayscale and opaque rendering.
- Custom Formulas: You can now build cost-related calculations directly into your classifications. For example, using equations like: Total = Area X Unit Cost, Total = Length X Unit Cost.

Performance Without the Wait
At the core of the Togal.AI platform, we built a fully rewritten caching and loading system, which makes Togal faster for set switching and progressive loading. The system ensures you can jump into work immediately while the rest of your set loads in the background.
We also improved the multi-tab drawing support. On a larger scale, this makes Togal responsive to match your project size as you grow.
Better Organization, Smarter Classification and Quantities = Better Data
Having cleaner data with proper naming conventions and classification folders will help you build stronger estimation workflows. While working, you can also drag classification sets directly into the Quantities Panel.
Examples of improving organization and classification with Togal.AI include:
- Classification Folders: Upgraded from single groups to have nested subfolders and IDs to keep your library organized.
- Up to 8 quantities per classification: Provides expanded capacity for complex takeoffs.
- Custom Item Naming: Now, you give every takeoff object a unique name for clearer tracking. Plus detailed notes to classifications in the classification properties modal.
Enhanced Exports You Can Trust
We redesigned Export PDF Preview with a unified Drawing Navigator and Quantities Panel directly into the preview.
You can also expect:
- Better professional-grade legends, tooltips, and font rendering for your final submittals
- Allowed a queue-based PDF exporting for clearer exports and reliability at scale.
- For Visual Exports, Count classifications now export with their corresponding shape icons, making spreadsheets easier to read at a glance.
Cleaner UI for Better Control
Togal.AI users love our modern and easy-to-read dashboard. And now, we’ve taken it a step further to give you more control with a reorganized settings menu for faster access. Other changes include:
- Moveable modals across the App
- Improved the drag-and-drop feedback
- Added a Grid Tool with smarter copy/paste workflows
Assemblies Feature Add-On
Assemblies are a separate module made up of components to simplify your takeoffs. Using it can link a group of materials—such as studs, drywall, insulation, and more—into a single quantity to get a singular linear measurement of a wall.
Togal.AI added pre-built templates on common wall types, which users can use. On top of that, users can customize templates with components and formulas to match how you build your project.
Assemblies linked to classifications remain project-specific, allowing edits without affecting templates globally.
To use Assemblies, you can request this feature from the Togal Expert assigned to your organization.
Togal.AI Is Looking Forward to 2026!
So what’s next at Togal? Here’s a little teaser… We’ve got more coming for Excel Export and Assemblies!
Our advanced Excel Export updates will have Classification notes:
- Displayed as hover tooltips when you move your cursor over the classification
- Included as a column display option in the onscreen grid view
- Included as an optional column in Excel exports.
Also, Assemblies advancements are now designed for drywall walls, ceilings, wood framing, and metal framing, with templates grouping these for easier use, and it is scheduled for expansion into concrete in 2026.
In the meantime, go explore the features from this year, update your workflow and try something different, and share with your team.
Thank you for being part of the Togal.AI community this year. And we can't wait to show you what's next!
Cheers to the New Year!
