Does Togal work as drywall takeoff software for Mac?
Yes. Togal runs in a browser, so a MacBook opens the same takeoff as a Windows workstation with nothing to install. This matters more in this category than in most, because the established alternatives are Windows desktop applications. ConstructConnect states its desktop products cannot be installed directly in macOS, and Bluebeam ended support for Revu for Mac in June 2023.
What happens to the assembly library we have spent years building?

An independent University of Kansas study put it at up to 76% time savings against On-Screen Takeoff on a fire station set. The researcher had never worked in either program before: the AI takeoff itself took about a minute, manual corrections took roughly half an hour, and the same work done manually in On-Screen Takeoff took two and a half hours. How does drywall takeoff software integrate with estimating and bidding workflows?
Through the export, and at any point in the bid rather than only at the end. Cloud-based vs desktop drywall takeoff software: which is better for field crews?
Cloud, as soon as anyone outside the estimating office needs to see the takeoff. Desktop software installs on a specific machine and keeps the files on that desktop or an internal server, so access stops where the install stops. Getting a partition layout in front of a foreman means exporting a PDF and emailing it, and by the time it reaches the field nobody can be certain it reflects the current set. Togal opens in a browser, so the digital plans and the takeoff on top of them travel to the trailer on a laptop or a tablet, and a foreman can be given view access to check which walls carry which type before hanging starts.
