Video Shows the Impact of AI on Construction

MIAMI, FLORIDA – As the demand for artificial intelligence in construction grows, a new video released today spotlights the impact AI has on big projects.

The video features Togal.AI, a software that automates the estimating process in construction. In a “Man vs. Machine” competition, three estimators face off to complete measurements for a project. One uses the old-school method of a ruler, another a computer, and the third uses Togal.AI.

“In this case, the machine wins bigtime and that’s a good thing. Togal.AI is taking weeks of work and compressing it into seconds, so contractors can launch projects faster,” Togal.AI CEO Patrick Murphy said.

The video was shot by Contech America, an organization with a mission to inspire the American construction and property industries to embrace technological innovation. Sharing insights and best practices are a key part of that effort.

“We are honored to be featured by Contech America. The construction industry is ripe for innovation. This video shows just how much of an impact AI is making,” Murphy said.

Before Togal, estimators measured the square footage of rooms manually with rollers and rulers, or by dragging a computer mouse over each area to label it. The software can automatically measure and also name room and wall types in blueprints. It also allows the user to overlay an older version of plans with updated ones, identifying key changes to avoid costly mistakes.

Available on Procore and Bluebeam, Togal is the ultimate tool to augment the human estimator and allow them to do more with less. Togal has been featured in Engineering News-Record (ENR), The Real Deal, Construction Dive, Construction Executive, the South Florida Business Journal, Florida Trend, Florida Construction News, Construction Equipment Guide, Constructech, Tribe, Cafecito Talk with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and other outlets and publications.
